We’re continuing our “Meet a Speaker” series today with Conni Biesalski, our favorite yogi and (z)entrepreneur. Her reputation as a successful businesswoman and travel blogger often precedes her, but what she’s coming to 7in7 to share is much more personal.
We asked her a few questions about what drives her and why she’s recently made some big changes in her life.
You’ve accomplished a lot in your years as a digital nomad, from creating Germany’s most popular travel blog to running blog camps, retreats and creating an online course. What are you most proud of?
I’m most proud of all the people I have been able to inspire with my life and message that started living a life that really fulfills their heart and soul.
None of what I do is really about me, although that’s hard to take in, considering that I am a personal brand and my life is all over the place. But for me, it has always been about serving the world, serving people.
I help people elevate their mind, soul, body and spirituality so they can grow faster and shine their light to change the world. I do this a bit unconventionally through my travel blog and more so these days with my YouTube channel.
In the last two years, you’ve switched up your travel style from fast-paced to a more relaxed, focused way of living. What brought on the change?
I eventually realised that I wasn’t happy leading a life of fast paced travel. Yeah, it was exciting and adventurous and it looked great on Instagram, but it didn’t fulfill my deeper needs and desires such as meaningful social connections and community, enhanced productivity, keeping up daily routines for a healthy lifestyle… I just more and more started to figure out what kind of environments and people were good for me and what I needed in life to feel happy and at ease.
And I also found a place that has been able to provide me with all that and one that I call my homebase these days: Bali.
Spirituality is a big part of your life and you call yourself a (z)entrepreneur – what does the intersection of business and awareness look like for you?
Like I mentioned above, I run my business and make all my business decisions based on one question: how can I serve my followers and this world the best? I want to make this world a better place, inspire transformations that matter
It also means that I integrate my own soul and heart into my business by living my calling.And it also means that I don’t just run a business – my life is my business, there is no separation. With this comes a great responsibility to consciously and spiritually deal with whatever comes my way.
Bonus: What’s the most unusual thing you pack in your backpack?
I’d like to think of myself as a pretty conventional packer, but one thing comes to mind: incense 🙂 I like to use them to clear energies in a new room/house, but also for meditation and generally in the evenings when I chill out!
