Though we all enjoy being in the blissful 7in7 Conference bubble, life and work in the rest of the world must unfortunately continue. If you need a space to get work done during 7in7, here are some of your best bets in Wellington.

Note: Many coworking spaces and cafes only operate during daylight hours, so night owls may need to ensure their accommodation has good wifi for evening work!

BizDojo offers hot desk spots for NZ$39/day at their space, and it’s just a 30-minute walk from the 7in7 venue at the National Library.

The BizDojo Tory street community is a diverse mix of social enterprise, scaling businesses, and startups, along with freelancers, contractors and remote-workers so there is no shortage of interesting humans to bump into while making coffee, or at a learning session around the tables in the social zone.

Just 25 minutes on foot from the National Library, Credenza has hot desks available for NS$30 per day. Plus there’s a free trial on their website!

On the ground floor of our venue at the National Library, Home Cafe is there when you need a quiet moment to work between 7in7 sessions. Free public wifi is available with assorted seating arrangements.

Te Papa Cafe
55 Cable St

Hours: Daily, 9am to 5pm

Te Papa Cafe is open every day of the week, so it’s a good option for weekend work! It’s located on level 1 of the Museum of New Zealand, a 20-minute walk from our 7in7 venue. You can also find Espresso Cafe on level 4, where you can “relax in a comfy seat in the heart of the museum” with a coffee or glass of wine! Free public wifi is available.

Neo Cafe & Eatery
132 Willis St

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7am to 4pm; Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 3pm

20 minutes from the National Library near the heart of the city, Neo Cafe says they “specialise in all day brunch, fresh salads, in-house baking, and cater to a range of diets including gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan.” Plus free wifi!

Nikau Café
Te Ngākau Civic Square

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7am to 4pm; Saturday, 8am to 4pm; Sunday, 9am to 3:30pm

Located in the City Gallery Wellington (which is well worth its own visit), Nikau Café is a 20-minute walk from 7in7 along the waterfront. They’ve got “fresh, local, seasonal fare with delicious coffee and housemade beverages”, with that sweet free wifi you’ve come to expect.

If you’re looking for a free space, the nearest public library branch is a 22-minute walk from the 7in7 venue. There is a small area of casual seating available, with free public wifi.
